If you can’t resist trying from the internet, you know some of these viral trends are hit-or-miss. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that beauty is not one-size-fits-all. Each of us has different needs, and it’s crucial to get recommendations made just for you. And thanks to AI technology, you can discover your personalized beauty routine in two easy steps: take a selfie and answer a short quiz!

Intrigued? I was, too! So, I tried the BeautyHub PRO–which is free, BTW –to know more about my skin and hair needs. Keep reading to find out how it works and for my honest take on this nifty new beauty tool.

Get a Skin and Hair Analysis When You Take a Selfie

When you open the BeautyHub PRO page, you’ll see the skin and hair quizzes. Choose which one you’d like to take first. Both involve the same steps and are powered by AI to generate personalized results.

Step 1: Take a selfie.

It’s time for your phone’s front camera to get some action. Make sure you have a bare face and use your natural expression (hit pause on the cute !). The system also offers directions on taking the best photo for the AI diagnosis, like letting you know if the room is too dark or if your face is not in the center of the frame.

Although it advises users to remove their glasses, I wore mine, and it was able to detect my face without problems. You can always retake the photo if you’re not feeling it, so no pressure!

Step 2: Answer some questions.

The quiz starts by asking for your name, gender, and age. However, you can use an alias or choose not to disclose any personal information if you wish. The rest of the questions give you space to share more about your skin or hair routine, types, and goals. The AI will match your selfie with your answers to calculate the scores.

What BeautyHub PRO Can Reveal About Your Skin

After completing the quiz, you’ll get your results in 10 to 15 seconds. The AI highlights any skin concerns displayed in the selfie, a neat feature that pinpoints your problem area. Below is your skin score. The higher your score, the better your skin looks compared to other people in your age group. Scroll down and check the six parameters that determine your skin health: acne, pigmentation, lines, hydration, , and even skin tone.

The AI read my skin down to a T. I was nodding away at my results until I saw my perceived age. I’m in my 20s, yet the AI said my skin looked 30 years old. As shocked as I was, the analysis revealed a hidden truth. I’ve neglected those half-moons under my eyes and the dry patches around my chin. Sure, my is mostly to blame, but it also made me realize my moisturizer might not be working for me anymore.

Like a skincare-savvy BFF, BeautyHub PRO gave me product recommendations for treating my top skin concerns. Since I need to deal with my dark undereye circles and , the selections included POND'S Bright Miracle Ultimate Clarity Day Serum, POND'S Bright Miracle Day Cream, and a hydrating sunscreen.

I noticed that it considered my skincare habits, too. This way, I can incorporate these products into my beauty routine easily.

Personalize Your Haircare Routine Now

BeautyHub PRO not only analyzes your skin, but also determines the state of your hair. It analyzes the hair’s texture, color, length, and volume and offers advice to keep it healthy. From your selfie, the AI creates a profile that explains your hair’s “personality.” It also calculates how damaged and frizzy your mane is.

I got the big, scary combo. Finding out I had was not surprising, although I was caught off guard when the results said my hair was also moderately damaged. Not gonna lie, my hair looks pretty healthy in the photo (she glistens!) but that didn’t fool the AI. And weirdly enough, it accurately detected my dyed brown hair despite the visible black roots.

Just like the skin quiz, the hair test allows you to click through each tab and read more about it. I find this feature to be handy because TBH, I didn’t know what qualified as clinical damage (hint: irregular texture, dryness, and ). I learned new things, too, like the differences between hair density and volume.

Based on this newfound discovery, my AI hair guru recommended TRESemmé Ultimate Straight & Shine Shampoo, TRESemmé Pro-Color Series Color Radiance Shampoo, and Cream Silk Salon Expert Treatment Keratin Damage Repair among other related products. Another plus was I could order the products from popular e-commerce sites like Shopee and Lazada by clicking the “Buy Now” buttons. This function makes it so much easier to follow BeautyHub PRO’s recommendations and stick to them.

A New Feature Coming Soon

Taking the BeautyHub PRO skin and hair quizzes has sparked my competitive side. Over the past couple of weeks, I kept retaking them to see if my overall scores improved. Soon, I won’t have to reload the page manually and retake the quiz! BeautyHub PRO will be launching its new feature, Skin Coach. It’s an add-on where users can track their progress based on their set goals.

No need to redo all the steps – simply take a selfie and see how you’re doing. It stores your skin and hair analyses so you can always reread them. Want to try a new product?
