Joshua Chabon
Joshua is an athlete, a remote coach, and a programmer at Gteknika Gym in Manila. He posts daily photos and videos on his Instagram with encouraging messages and includes the workout he does for the day if his followers might want to try.
For Joshua, intensity is not universal. What works for a young athlete might not be the case for a working dad in his 50s. It’s all about consistency and creating fitness programs that adapt to your lifestyle. So, whether it’s 10 minutes of an intense workout each day or 30 minutes every other day, try gauging yourself to see what routine you can commit to.
Ken Tan
Ken, a fitness coach, recently shared a story of his fitness journey that included doing CrossFit workouts. In both pictures, he was at his heaviest. The photo on the left was taken in 2015 when he worked out thrice a week and ate about 4,000 calories per day, mostly sugar taking up his diet. He always felt lethargic and had mood swings.
In 2020, however, he started working out 4 to 5 times a week. He still ate 4,000 calories a day but tracked his macros instead. This gave him more energy and put him in a better mood.
For Ken, fitness journeys shouldn’t be rushed, and goals should be achievable and sustainable. “Put in the work, eat better, and lastly—be consistent,” he says.
